Is This Video a Review, or a Recommendation?
OK here's another interesting link from PW Daily email.
Is This Video a Review, or a Recommendation?: "
This is a video book review that the reader posted on U Tube. Yikes that's another thing I need to learn.
OK tried the link after I published this and it did not work. I got this from the Book Maven blog at www.publishersweekly.com. It's her June 18, 2008 posting. (Hey and I used the "blog this link" so I thought it would work better than just typing or cutting and pasting in the URL!)

Oh, those book reviewers. They use so many words, and not enough pictures! Have you been looking for an alternative to reading them? Meet amanduh11..."

Ok, so I created this blog. And like many of us. Didn't do anything with it. So here I go again. I am surprised that it's still even available! On the Horse Library front, I am still sending out a few requests per month, but have found that I need to get busy and order replacements and new materials.
Hey have any of you horse lovers out there heard of a trainer named Dan Evans? He produced a set of videos in the 80s. I'm trying to track replacement copies down, so if you have any ideas, I'm all ears.
On the other library front. I came across what I can only say is web-based video series promoting a book. Take a look at http://www.bordersmedia.com/foreignbody/default.asp Borders has teamed up with Vuguru (Michael Eisner's studio) to promote Robin Coo's Foreign Body which is to be published August 5. There are supposed to be new installments daily until August 4. Each episode is two minutes long. There will be 50 episodes. The book will pick up where the video series leaves off.

My first post
I'm just learning about posting to a blog, so you'll have to bear with me. I really don't have much to say about myself. It will be interesting to see the result of this blog. I guess this is an opportunity to get on my own "soapbox".
I chose my screen name since in my free time, I manage the Minnesota 4-H Horse Library. The library was started years ago with funding from the Minnesota Horse Council. In particular we have Marion Tschida to thank for its creation. The library is now over 300 videos (VHS & DVD) and at least 100 books. You can find the listing for the library at www.mn4hhorse.com/Library/library.htm.
I could go on, but I don't think that is the focus of this exercise. I am also a librarian for a public library system. As a librarian that was trained before the advent of the Internet as we know it, I am learning the capabilities for my work.
Until I have something worthwhile to say...
